Note to Parents Regarding Class Dismissal
Posted 3/14/20

Good afternoon Workman Wolverine Families. This is Ms. Gavilanes, with an important message:

In an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus, the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District Board of Education voted to dismiss students from school starting on Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, April 10, 2020 – or until further notice. This measure was not taken lightly, however, the district followed the guidance of the Los Angeles County Office of Education and Public Health Officials. When plans are finalized, the information will be posted on the District website (www.hlpschools.org) and social media platforms as well as our school website and our school Facebook page.

All staff are to report to work on Monday March 16, 2020. While employees will be on campus, the school, including the front office, will be closed to the public.

Parents, please be advised that a breakfast and lunch will be distributed to students present for pickup by drive thru/walk up at five distribution sites curbside at parking areas regardless of eligibility and school site enrollment.

NO meal application necessary. All site distribution information can be found on the district website…See down below.

This will begin at Workman High School beginning Monday morning, March 16, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 am in the school parking lot. Look for the Workman pop ups.

While this has been a challenging time for all of us, please know that our first priority is the safety and health of our Workman Family and our larger HLPUSD Family. As the situation develops, the Hacienda La Puente School District will continue to be guided by information provided by the Center for Disease Control, California Department of Public Health, and the Los Angeles County Office of Education. I will continue to provide updates through School Messenger as new information is provided. We will also post updates on our school website.

Thank you, have a great day, and, as always

"Go Wolverines!”
