Mission Statement

Workman Elementary School invites children to develop the strengths and capabilities which promote increased intellectual, social and cooperative skills through a variety of learning environments and resources in technology.  We strive to maintain a safe, nurturing, culturally enriched learning environment which supports and includes parents, fosters a love of learning, and feelings of self-worth.  Students and staff will be engaged as learning colleagues to become confident, lifelong learners and responsible world citizens.

About Workman Elementary

Workman Elementary School is located in La Puente, CA and is one of 23 elementary schools in Hacienda La Puente Unified School District. It is a public school that serves about 380 students in grades Transitional Kindergarten through Grade 6.


Workman Elementary was named one of California's 2016 Gold Ribbon Schools Award Program. This recognition from the California Department of Education (CDE) seeks to recognize outstanding educational programs and practices.Schools that are selected demonstrate exemplary achievements in implementing state standards in priority areas. 

CBEE Excellence Honor Roll School

Congratulations Workman students, staff and community! We’re proud to be named an #ERPHonorRoll 2019-2020 school, which recognizes high-performing, achievement gap-closing schools across the nation. The Educational Results Partnership Honor Roll, sponsored by CBEE, is the only school recognition program the state using student achievement outcomes as the criteria. Code to The Future


Workman Elementary students have the opportunity to learn fundamentals of Computer Coding as part of their daily curriculum. Through this 21st century literacy, students will develop critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills. Our students are learning to code through the use of Scratch, Scratch, Jr. and Lego's.
